Our Story
Pamo Valley Winery opened in 2004. Our winery has produced handmade, award-winning small production wines including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Primitivo, Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, Barbera, Viognier, Orange Muscat and many blends with grapes all coming from local fruit. Our menu changes often as our wines move quickly. If you find something you like, best to buy it now because it won’t last.
The quaint town of Ramona is known for its charming downtown, friendly folk, arts, murals, antiques, boutiques, mom-n-pop restaurants, wineries, emerging music scene and small-town feel. Unlike other Ramona wineries located outside of the main town, our tasting room is located directly in town, making for easy access to some truly high-quality wines.
We are the only wine tasting room in Ramona that is open seven days a week. We are located in the quaint heart of Old Town Ramona near the famous Ramona Cafe. Enjoy live music on our spacious back patio or people watching on our front patio. We have plenty of indoor seating inside our modern farmhouse style tasting room. Guests sample wines and choose to purchase bottles to go or enjoy a glass and relax. A staff member is always available to answer questions about the winery, the wine making process… or just to chat, like all Ramona locals love to do.
We offer a delicious small bites menu from our neighbors Ramona Cafe and Mamma Ramona’s Pizzeria. Order for delivery while enjoying a glass of wine. We are a kid and dog friendly wine bar.
Our label photograph, “Wine Glass and Sunset,” was taken by owner and winemaker, Jennifer Lane, overlooking our original vineyard in Pamo Valley.
A Little History
Pamo Valley Winery is a small family operated winery that was founded and planted as a 500 Syrah vine vineyard in 2000 overlooking the Pamo Valley, hence the winery name. With little more than a remarkable vision and a powerful drive to succeed, Pamo Valley Winery expanded to include winery operations in 2004. Our owner, Jennifer Lane, took over operations in 2007, making Pamo Valley Winery the first woman owned winery in San Diego County. In 2007, we relocated 4 miles east to a lush mountain side location in Ramona and doubled the vineyard size adding several more varietals. Prior to opening our retail tasting room we sold our wines wholesale from 2007 – 2011. Pamo Valley Winery opened its original tasting room in June 2011 where we could sell wines directly to the public. Eleven years later, the tasting room expanded by relocating to our new building in September 2022.
In addition to making wine with our own estate grown grapes and in order to sustain our inventory, we purchase grapes from local growers. From the beginning, Pamo Valley has always been forward-focused and committed to providing its customers with the highest quality, best value, and award-winning wines.

One of my favorite wineries in Ramona! I love that Pamo is open seven days a week and offers live music a few times a week. Jenn has done an amazing job transforming the back patio into a space you will want to hang out at. Lots of local restaurants and Ramona Family Naturals in walking distance so you can have snackies or dinner too.
What a gem in downtown Ramona!! We have driven by many times, and last week we decided to finally stop, and we were NOT disappointed. All the wines are amazing (we are also wine makers, so that is an objective statement) as well as the freshly made sangria. Jennifer has a great story and staff and we highly recommend stopping by!
